Ortzadarreko partiturak, children’s sheet music in Basque, from the Rainbow Songs collection, is part of a multilingual teaching project offering music materials adapted to different languages, with Catalan as the base language of the publishing project.

This book brings together 20 children’s folk songs in the Basque language (Euskara), selected and adapted with educational and therapeutic criteria in mind. It is designed for schools, families and professionals who use music as a tool for education, expression and emotional support in different settings.

Each song includes the main melody in standard music notation, together with chords for the ukulele – an instrument especially well suited to children’s music education thanks to its simplicity, portability and accessibility. All the pieces also include the score adapted to the Rainbow Songs colour code, a visual system that makes reading music easier and removes barriers to learning.

The Rainbow Songs collection is available in several languages and follows a common method based on using colour to make learning easier. Each language edition adapts the songs to its own language and cultural context, while keeping the same educational and therapeutic consistency that defines the whole collection.

This approach makes the book especially suitable for music therapy, inclusive education and emotional work with children, as well as for settings where music becomes a tool for communication, expression and emotional regulation. The visual, structured format offers a step-by-step approach to music, with no prior knowledge of music theory required.

This children’s sheet music in Basque is also a good resource for introducing Basque vocabulary through traditional songs, making learning natural, meaningful and motivating, both in the classroom and at home.
