A great resource for expanding English vocabulary and enjoying playing the soprano ukulele. Children’s traditional folk songs mainly from the United States of America, songs with racist roots such as Oh Susanna and Amazing Grace have been removed, as well as songs inappropriate for children. Sing and extend English vocabulary with your students while playing the ukulele.

Description

We would especially like to thank Joan Pinós for his advice in the elaboration of this songbook.

We tell you the story of this popular traditional English children’s songbook for soprano ukulele. At first I had 50 songs, yes 50 traditional folk songs, the vast majority of the USA, but one day establishing contact with a group of masters from the USA, not from those who appear in the movies, but masters of real and everyday life. from the USA warned me that there were some songs with racist roots and content, yes racist, then for a long time we devoted ourselves to researching what racist songs we had to remove, do not be surprised and contact native US teachers as well we did:

Songs removed by racists or by inappropriate content by children

A tisket, a tasket – Amazing grace – Aura Lee – Barbara Allen – Buffalo Gals – Camptown races – Five little monkeys – Good night ladies – Little brown jug – Oh my darling Clementine – Oh Susanna – Streets of Laredo – Ten in the bed – The yellow rose of Texas – This land is your land – Tom Dooley – USA Anthem – Yankee Doodle
