Children’s ukulele sheet music book Ukelele per a mans menudes is a book of ukulele sheet music designed to help children get started in music in an accessible and motivating way. It’s a high-quality music teaching resource, especially suited to school and family settings.

This songbook lets the youngest children discover the soprano ukulele through a clear, step-by-step approach. It also helps them play successfully right from the start.

The sheet music uses a colour-coding system that matches the colours of the ukulele strings. This makes reading music much more intuitive for children.

Coloured strings are available from any local music shop. If needed, the teacher can also help change the strings.

Each note comes with a two-digit number code. The code shows the string number and the fret number, so children can easily find the right position on the neck.

This book grew out of the experience of its authors, Violant Olivares and Eduardo Hernández. Both are trainers and educators with long careers in music education and in training primary teachers.

Thanks to this expertise, the teaching approach is designed to adapt to each child’s learning pace, making the process gradual, clear and motivating.

The songbook includes 30 pieces. Some are well-known songs and others are original compositions, so the material fits the book’s teaching goals perfectly.

With Ukelele per a mans menudes, the aim is to help children succeed when they play. This helps them gain confidence and stay motivated.

This book is also a very good resource for inclusive music learning. Colour-coded sheet music lets children who find standard notation difficult to read take part in music-making.

That way, all children can share the same musical activity, which encourages inclusion and working together in the classroom.

Instrument: soprano ukulele

Number of pieces: 30

System: colour-coded sheet music and number code

Recommended for: school, music classroom, home and music therapy

Suggested age: from 6–7 years, bearing in mind that every child is different

Finally, this songbook also makes a great educational gift.
